Why Physical Therapy?

Physical therapy and physical rehabilitation improves mobility and motion, improving quality of life by increasing one’s ability to work and play. Improved mobility and motion also improve balance, which helps prevent falls and injuries. 

Physical therapy for sports injuries

Physical therapists and rehabilitation specialists are trained to work with their patients to expand, restore, and maintain motion. Therapists work with patients of all ages and all abilities.

One of the greatest reasons to try physical therapy and physical rehabilitation is to avoid surgery and drugs. A referral is not required unless your rehabilitation extends beyond 60 days, but physicians often refer their patients to physical therapy and rehabilitation because it can be equally effective at helping people recover from medical traumas and surgery (without the side effects!). Plus, it’s often a cheaper alternative to surgery and prescription drugs for conditions like back pain, degenerative disk disease, meniscal tears, and knee osteoarthritis.
