Training
A Diplomate of the American Chiropractic Board of Sports Physicians has completed years of post doctoral education in specialized sports medicine topics and passed rigorous written and practical (hands-on) Board examinations. The certification program is taught by accredited chiropractic colleges and the program is accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA). This instruction is specific to evaluating physical fitness and the assessment and treatment of injuries encountered in sports, and includes extensive on-the-field training outside of a clinical setting. This training aids a chiropractic sports physician in the prevention and treatment of athletic injuries by enhancing diagnostic skills and improving the quality patient care.
Why see a Chiropractic Sports Physician?
Only about 300 physicians in the United States have obtained the honor of becoming a Diplomate of the American Chiropractic Board of Sports Physicians.
For Athletes, this means faster recovery times, access to a wider range of treatment tools, expertise in high-performance athletes, guidance for training, sports nutrition consulting, sport-specific treatment and preventive exercises, and the ability to integrate treatment and training.
For Non-Athletes, this means faster evaluation, reduced treatment duration and number of visits, exercises to prevent injuries, the option to take advantage of the latest treatments and methods developed for athletes.
